The programs Director and the BOD chairperson will be attending the the 2nd National Girl Summit UG 2019 on 26th and 27th November at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

This second National Girl Summit has been organised under the theme Securing Uganda’s Future: Support the Girl Child to live to her full potential. With less than one year left to the end of the National Strategy to end child marriage and teenage pregnancy, this year’s summit will focus on reflecting on the progress made in ending child marriage and teenage pregnancy by the government, Girls Not Brides  (GNB) members and other stakeholders after the first national summit.

The main objective of the summit is to highlight successful actions taken by government and other stakeholders after the first national summit, and promote more discussions on ending child marriage and teenage pregnancy.

Girls Not Brides Uganda is a National Alliance of over 89 civil society organisations committed to working collectively to end child marriage in Uganda. The National Girl summit will bring together over 300 delegates from different line ministries of Gender, Ministry of Education, MoH, MoLG, the UN agencies, CSO’s, girls and boys and other key stakeholders working to End Child Marriage and teenage pregnancy.
